The NHS is hiring for a “career” job, with doctors becoming the new “careers” in the country.
The Careers and Career Development Agency says doctors are needed in every corner of the NHS, from primary care to specialist nursing, as demand grows and demand for specialists continues to rise.
The Agency says there are about 12,000 people who are currently working in the health service as part of a professional development programme.
Its job-search website currently has almost 9,000 job postings.
Careers and career development are the key skills the NHS needs to meet its workforce needs, said Joanne O’Connor, chief executive of the agency.
We are looking for people who can contribute to the development of our workforce, she said.
They are also the key workforce resource for our public health system.
“Our public health workforce is expanding in a way that is driving demand for care, so they are key to ensuring we are able to meet that demand,” she said, adding the agency is also looking for someone with skills in patient care, mental health, nursing, nutrition, and social work.
It is a key priority for the NHS to ensure it can meet future demand, said O’Connors deputy chief executive, Fiona Hill.
Our healthcare workforce is being built to support the delivery of the best care possible and that means helping patients and their families, so that we can provide quality and high-quality care for our patients.””

Dr David Green, a GP and consultant clinical psychiatrist, said it was “the biggest step forward in terms of job opportunities for doctors”.
He said it would allow them to have a more flexible working day and more flexibility in how they could spend their time.
He also said he hoped it would help the NHS cope with increasing demand.
“It will create a more predictable work environment, and it will be good for the whole health service,” he said.
Dr Green said the agency could see a significant increase in the number of doctors who would be looking for roles in the NHS.
“We have seen a significant jump in the numbers of doctors in our hospital system, so this will be a welcome development,” he added.
The Carer’s and Career Carers Agency said it had already secured more than 400 jobs with more to come.
As well as jobs, there are opportunities for students to study medicine and the arts and to become a nurse, social worker or GP.
But the agency said it wanted to attract more people into the workforce to help improve the quality of care.
“As more and more patients have a need for our care, we are now looking for doctors to be part of the development team, helping to guide and support our team,” said Dr Green.
Dr Green added that the agency was working with NHS England to identify who it should support to get people into roles.
NHS England has previously set up a “health careers site” where people can get advice on getting a career.
I am pleased to say that we have now secured nearly 400 jobs and we are looking forward to more.””
But as we have seen the health workforce grow, we need to create new opportunities for people with these skills.”

“Health Minister David Burns said the Government would continue to build on its plans to boost the NHS’s workforce.”
Careers are a key part of NHS work and we have already seen this grow by over 20 per cent in the last year, so we are keen to ensure that we are creating the right roles for the people we need.
“The agency will continue to help train the next generation of doctors, nurses, midwives and other care workers to help support the NHS workforce,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
“There is no point in having a workforce that is full of specialists, it is about ensuring we have the right workforce for the future, so it is vital that we keep the number at just over 11,000.”
